Do I need to have a background in science or medicine?
No.It is not a requirement. But obviously it will be in your advantage if you have some prior education in the field.
Can i apply with my A-levels only?
Yes. A minimum of 2 GCE Advanced level exams may be considered a substitute to the high school diploma.
Is it hard to get a visa to Romania?
You do not need a visa if you are an EU citizen. For the Non-EU citizens, once you get the “letter of acceptance”, it is almost guaranteed that you will be granted a visa.
How long will it take for me to receive the “letter of acceptance”?
It will take about 3 weeks, once all the documents have been received.
What is the “letter of acceptance”?
This is a document that states that you have been accepted to study at UMF “Carol Davila”. Once you receive this paper, you are clear to register at the university during the registration period in September.
Are there any chances that I will not be accepted?
Yes. There are limited places available for each year and the demand is high, but we will do our best to find you a place as long as you apply in time.

Is it easy to find accommodation in Bucharest?
It is easy to find a place to rent, but it will usually take a few tries until you will find the apartment that you think it’s best for you.
The prices in Bucharest range from 200 Euros/month, for a studio to 500 Euros, for a 3 room apartment.
What is the currency used in Romania?
Romanian Lei or RON. 1 EURO = 4.4 RON, 1 USD = 3.4 RON.
There are plenty of international banks and foreign currency exchange offices that charge no commission.
How much money should I have when I get to Romania?
You need to have enough to cover your school fees, your rent for two months (500-600 Euros), food (10-15 Euros/day), taxi ( 5 Euros/day, until you get accustomed to the public transportation ).
